Contemporary, stylish and intimate hotel in a stunning location.

Boutique, 5 rooms and 1 suite

Having opened just last year, this small boutique hotel is sure to prove popular. With just 5 double bedrooms plus 1 suite and with no children allowed, it is a serene oasis in the colourful country of The Gambia. The Austrian owners left their careers in publishing to build their dream home with a small, family run hotel attached, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and they invite you to share their dream with them.

Each of the 5 double bedrooms is spacious and light with all the usual modern conveniences you would expect and their balconies look out across the pool across the gardens to the ocean beyond . The suite has a large living area and separate bedroom but it should be noted that the balcony does not face the sea.

The restaurant offers just a small choice of dishes, made with fresh, local produce and is already proving popular with the local community.

Review hotel Brufut Gambia

I really loved the calm atmosphere here, the owner’s are charming and, with their staff, will work hard to make sure that you have the perfect holiday. The views here are lovely too but my favourite feature is the Jacuzzi corner in the pool. There’s a table top in the middle with two buttons. One turns on the Jacuzzi and the other summons a waiter – my kind of pool!

Leo's beach hotel, Gambia

There’s a spacious garden with sun beds under shade-giving palm trees and steps lead down to a short sandy path that will lead you through more palm trees to the beach.

Sustainability policy

Leo’s is the first hotel in The Gambia to use a photovoltaic system, which feeds electricity back into the national grid. Solar power is used to heat the hot water. Local craftsmen built the lovely, quality furniture throughout the hotel.

Kololi, with its restaurants, nightlife and shops is just a ten minute taxi ride away. The nearby fishing village of Tanji is well worth visiting to watch the colourful pirogues returning with their catch. This together with birdwatching, fishing, golf, forest hikes tracking baboons or a visit to a wood carvers market are just some of the activities that can be easily to arranged.
