What makes the perfect boutique hotel?
1. Between 10 and 100 rooms
Any less and they really should be classed as B&Bs or perhaps an inn. Some larger hotels may have a section within them that could be classed as a boutique hotel, such as a boutique wing. Either way, the atmosphere should be intimate and welcoming.
2. A unique style and flair
The design of each area of a boutique hotel should be carefully planned and coordinated with attention paid to every detail. They seek to stand out from the crowd, sometimes with a quirky twist here and there.
3. Excellent service with a laid-back vibe
While the service at a boutique hotel should be first-rate, it should not be over fussy, pretentious or intrusive.
4. Fabulous food and drink
Ideally, in our minds at least, a boutique hotel should have an excellent restaurant offering dishes made from local, seasonal, organic produce, ideally with a nod to traditional local fare.
