Reminiscent of a medieval castle, the public rooms of Bonsol Hotelare delightful and fascinating to explore with beautiful antique furniture, suits of armour, ancient tapestries and the occasional sculpture from Thailand. There are two excellent restaurants, one of which has lovely views overlooking the private beach. The spa has a first-rate reputation and above it, you’ll find the relaxation room pictured above. It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the sauna, steam room and outdoor jacuzzi.
Underground tunnels and lifts link the different levels of the hotel, which, despite being a reasonable size, has the feeling of somewhere far more intimate.
“My junior suite was spacious, extremely comfortable, tastefully decorated and had a generous private terrace with a view of the Med. Perfect!
Apart from the beautiful rooms and sea views, lovely swimming pools and friendly, helpful staff, not to mention the quiet location just a short bus ride from Palma, there is another reason to love Bonsol. We’ve all heard of the phrase greenwashing and I have to admit I’m a little sceptical when hotels claim to care for the environment. Hotel Bonsol, however, has been truly ‘green’ since before the term was even invited, before any of us had heard of climate change or carbon offset.
Just one example is the heated pool that’s warmed all year round by the heat generated by the hotel’s refrigerators. How clever is that!”
