Dama del Lago, near Bellagio Lake Como, Italy (sleeps up to 14)
Dama del Lago was built at the turn of the last century as a villa for the Italian aristocracy. This luxurious holiday property offers a modernised and exclusive accommodation on the shores of Lake Como, with private access to the lake for boat-mooring or bathing, all within a few miles of attractive town of Bellagio.
This large holiday home is comfortably spread over four floors, with the interiors elegantly decorated with a blend of classic and modern Italian furniture.
Most rooms and several terraces have stunning views over the Grigna mountain range and the Lecco branch of Lake Como, contributing to the villa’s unique, magical atmosphere. The well-maintained garden has century-old trees providing pleasant shade during the hot summer days. Guests can enjoy a relaxing swim in the large pool or in the lake, easily accessed from the garden.
This location of Dama del Lago is the perfect starting point to explore the lake and its ‘hidden’ coves and villages by water taxi or hired boat. You can then reach many picturesque lakeside villages and towns such as Bellagio, Menaggio, Varenna or Bellano and browse among the market stalls for typical Italian hand-made goods and gastronomic delicacies. Watch out for some Hollywood celebrities whilst there, as this area has become increasingly frequented by them.
Dama del Lago has 7 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 14 guests. For further information please visit Quality Villas Italy.
This villa works on so many levels. Beautiful decor, ideal location. I could see us there easily.
I stayed in Bellagio quite a few years ago (at the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni). It’s a beautiful location with a relaxed feel and some lovely views, and this property looks like a lovely alternative to staying in a hotel.
Wow – what a picture-perfect place to stay! I’ve only ever passed by Lake Como and that was a couple of decades ago; I’ve always wanted to return. I would certainly choose somewhere like this as my accommodation – especially travelling with family and friends – rather than a hotel. I’ve made a note of the details…
