Angoli e nicchie del #Gabbiano, un breve sguardo sulla nostra #lobby! A post shared by Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel&Suites (@gabbianoazzurro_sardinia) on
It isn’t just the superb seafront location that makes this hotel so special and a perfect Sardinia honeymoon retreat. The rooms are lovely, many having sea views, plus the owner and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and the food in the waterside restaurant is superb.
The hotel can arrange a variety of excursions and activities including fishing, water sports and dolphin watching, as well as diving or snorkelling in the crystal clear waters. Rather uniquely, the exhibits from an art gallery have been sunk in the sea just across the bay from the hotel so that people can snorkel over them or even dive among them.

Su Gologone, near Oliena, Central Sardinia
by Kathryn, Travel With Kat
This charming boutique hotel in the heart of Sardinia exudes tradition and character and was recently reviewed on Boutique Travel Blog. It is the perfect hideaway for lover’s of great food, strolls through the countryside and mountain hikes. Madonna liked it so much that she once rented the whole hotel for a week while she was filming in the area. And I did hear of people coming over from Rome just to visit the renowned restaurant.

Hotel Villa Fanny
by Claudia, My adventures across the world

One of the best places to stay in Cagliari is Villa Fanny, which is very close to the historical centre, located right by the departments of Economics and Law of the University of Cagliari, and the Botanical Gardens. It’s a former monastery which has been completely renovated to create gorgeous, comfortable and stylish rooms that overlook a well-kept garden. Every detail has been taken care of, and guests feel pampered and well looked after.
There is an excellent on-site restaurant that serves gourmet dishes of the local tradition but revisited with a modern twist.
Despite being in the centre, the area is very quiet so you are guaranteed a peaceful sleep.

The Nora Club is another boutique hotel, full of character and charm, with an intimate atmosphere and welcoming staff plus it’s just a short distance from a sandy beach and the archaeological site of Nora. It’s a perfect off the beaten track Sarindia honeymoon hideaway. There is no restaurant here but there are a handful within walking distance and plenty more just a 5-minute drive away in the quaint village of Pula.

Best secluded Sardinia honeymoon
by Hanna, Solar Powered Blonde
II had never been glamping before, but when I saw this beautiful traditional Sardinian hut in Northern Sardinia, up on a hill and surrounded by nature, I knew I had to stay here! I went with my partner and we stayed for three nights. There are four huts here as part of L’Essenza Oasi Sensoriale. Each hut has a different theme, based on the essential oils associated with the specific hut. The two ladies than run L’Essenza specialise in making essential oils, and aromatherapy and each room is a different colour based on this.
The interior has a comfy double bed, a high ceiling and all the amenities you may need, from shampoo, a hairdryer to a small mini-fridge. The rooms are also cleaned daily with fresh towels.
The surrounding area is full of plants and nature, and quirky chairs dotted around to relax on and enjoy the views. It is a really romantic place to stay and would be ideal for a honeymoon. Breakfast is provided, and during the day it is a perfect base from which to explore Northern Sardinia and try the amazing food in surrounding areas. Make sure to visit Cala Coticcio, in the Maddalena archipelago in the North. L’Essenza is located near to Torpé, which has a few small restaurants, but there is so much to see around that dinner is best had after sunset wherever you end your day. You will need a car to reach L’Essenza as it is a bit off the beaten track, which makes it even more special and peaceful.
Best hotel for an active Sardinia honeymoon
Hotel Cormoran, Villasimius, Southern Sardinia

This is the ideal choice for watersports enthusiasts, whether your addiction is scuba diving or sailing, windsurfing or waterskiing. The staff at this four-star hotel couldn’t be more welcoming and the restaurant is excellent.

I’m trying to stretch out the honeymooning for at least a year after getting married and have always wanted to go to Sardinia so will bookmark this one!
It’s a wonderful island. I was so very sad to hear of the awful damage the cyclone caused. It wouldn’t surprise me though, if by the time the next tourist season starts, things are pretty much back to normal, at least to the casual observer. Some people have lost so much though and tourism will certainly help the people of Sardinia to rebuild their lives.
