With good reason most visitors to the beautiful Mediterranean island of Sardinia flock to the coast, as the beaches are among the most beautiful in the world, but, if they don’t ever venture inland, they are really missing out. The scenery inland is breathtaking and in the foothills of the majestic mountains you’ll find one of the mist charming hotels I’ve ever stayed at. It is only rated as a four star hotel but if it is good enough for the likes of Madonna and Richard Gere, than it is good enough for me!
In one of the most affluent areas of London, the Millennium Gloucester is a stylish hotel in a great location for both business or leisure travellers visiting the city. When I found the entrance to the hotel I was surprised to see what resembled an underground car park but as I walked towards the doors I was transported to a world of comfort and luxury. What struck me most about my stay was how exceptionally charming and polite all the staff were, from the moment I arrived at reception to the housekeeping staff I passed in the corridor, making my stay a much more intimate experience than you would expect from a hotel with over 600 rooms.
In an ideal location by the beach and close to the ferry terminal, this lovely hotel mixes modern comfort with Victorian elegance. It really was wonderful to wake up to a view of the sea, followed by a leisurely breakfast on the terrace, a walk on the beachand. There was even time for a relaxing massage, before I checked out to catch my ferry.
